We like to think of Norbury as a church with open doors and transparent walls! We love to welcome new people, and to share the love of God with everyone. At the heart of our vision is our desire to grow together in our understanding of God’s love and of the hope he offers to the world, as we follow Jesus in our lives, and to reach out in service to our community.
Norbury Church is open securely on almost a daily basis. Visitors coming in for any reason will be met by friendly faces and a warm welcome. The church is open on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 10.30am – 12.30pm and a team of two people is always present. On Saturdays the church is open from 9.00am – 10.30am to offer a welcome to those coming to church to enquire about booking baptisms and weddings.
We are always on the lookout for new people to help with Open Doors, the commitment being approximately once a month. If you feel that you can help, please ring Graeme Potts on 0161 483 4911.
This beautiful, historic church building has stood here since 1834. The church rooms, added in more recent times, with their extensive facilities, enable us to accommodate many other groups and activities too. The adjoining churchyard is a peaceful haven for those visiting graves. Together our church and churchyard are there for everybody, and all are welcome.
Norbury Church is part of the Deanery of Stockport, a group of Church of England churches in parishes covering a central area of the borough of Stockport. The churches in the deanery meet regularly for planning and collaboration, and share occasional services and events
