Churches together

We greatly value our relationships with our Christian neighbours, our fellowship together, and the work we share in the community.

There are currently five churches involved in Churches Together in Hazel Grove (CTHG): Baptist, Methodist, Roman Catholic (St Peter’s), United Reformed, and Church of England (Norbury). Representatives from these churches meet five times each year, helping our churches to work together to spread the truth and love of Jesus Christ in Hazel Grove.

This collaboration happens in a number of different ways.  There are a number of events where the churches get together during the year – for instance, to mark the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity. The ministers of the different churches meet informally on a regular basis, and sometimes arrange ‘pulpit swaps’ between the churches. Services are held jointly in care homes and other places in the community. At meetings of the Churches Together committee, news is shared and plans are made.

Other joint activities over the last few years have included a Walk of Witness, Praise in the Park, annual Lent groups and carol singing in the heart of the village.
